SSE Airtricity announces 35.4% price hike for electricity customers

SSE Airtricity has announced their second price rise for electricity customers this year with prices set to increase by 35.4% from 1st October 2022.

This will be worrying news for customers of SSE Airtricity who will see bills increase significantly as we move towards to winter with the company blaming the continuing global energy crisis for driving prices up further.

What does the price increase mean for customers?

SSE Airtricity is the second largest electricity supplier in Northern Ireland, supplying around 20% of homes or around 159k customers.

An increase of 35.4% is a huge jump for SSE Airtricity customers who will see their bills increase by around £355 per year. And this follows an increase of 33% in June which meant bills already had increased by £248 per year.

Since June 2022, SSE customers will have seen electricity bills have increase by 68% or £603

What SSE Airtricity has said…
